Under the theme “ESG in Real Assets: From Risk-Based Implementation to Investor-Trusted Asset Value,” the forum convened industry leaders, investors, and ESG practitioners at Vasaka Hotel, Jakarta. The discussion emphasized how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation enhances asset value, strengthens business resilience, and unlocks access to sustainable global financing.

 

The shift in the real assets sector—spanning property, construction, infrastructure, and energy—is significant. ESG has evolved from a mere reporting obligation or administrative compliance into a strategic instrument for risk management and investment decision-making.

Trey Archer, Business Development Director Asia at GRESB, explained that over 170 global investors, including BlackRock and APG, utilize GRESB benchmarks for investment due diligence.

“Companies with strong ESG transparency are more trusted by investors and have better access to sustainable financing.”

Farida Maharani, Senior Manager of Business Strategy at PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, highlighted how ESG integration bolsters operational efficiency and facilitates access to green financing.

“ESG is not just a reporting duty; it is the foundation for building a more resilient and sustainable business model.”

Shifting Paradigm: From Report to Reality
